A very actual city film about street gangs in Brussels

This past summer in the very heart of Brussels, the promising young directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah started shooting their film ‘Black ‘ based on the popular books of Dirk Bracke.  Some shooting was also done in Matonge last August.
Black tells the hard story of a fifteen year old girl Mavela – black and gang member of the feared “Black Bronx” gang in Brussels - who is brutally forced to choose between loyalty and love when she madly falls in love with a Moroccan boy from the enemy gang “1080”.  The film is an introduction to the ruthless world of street gangs, a phenomenon very actual indeed!
Black is a production of the young Brussels production house Caviar.
