Trenches in Africa 1914-1918

The Great War did not only take part behind the river Yser or at the Somme. Much further away, in deepest Africa, an equally bloody, though forgotten battle was fought. Lucas Catherine, historian for Forgotten Affaires, started researching the photographic archives of WWI and unearthed a story that never made it into the Belgian history books.
The exhibition Trenches in Africa (1914-1918) combines the archive material into a unique photographic exhibition and tells a story that determined the course of our European history without even having received any recognition.
